Coordinate and process daily payroll of the Prison to ensure timely and accurate payment for all the Prison's payroll obligations. Responsibilities include verification of daily time and attendance records to ensure compliance with Department of Labor Laws and be able to make corrections as required to those records. Individual should be knowledgeable of all Prison union contracts and their application to the payroll process. Individual must be proficient in payroll process. Individual must be proficient in payroll module of PowerTime and time keeping system to accurately maintain employees numerous databases and be familiar with their interactions. Maintain payroll information by collecting and analyzing information Process payroll biweekly Maintain payroll filing system Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information Handle all employee payroll issues and questions in a timely and courteous manner Distribute payroll reports Knowledgeable of all Prison Union Contracts and their application to payroll Schedule vacations, personal time, and PTO time as it applies to specific units within the Prison Maintain all employees leave balances including sick, vacation, personal and PTO leave Maintain calendars of compliments allowed off each shift as it applies to the bargaining unit contracts Prepare call sheets weekly for call desk Maintain badge machine, create, replace and deactivate badges when needed Prepare new hire information into databases, spreadsheets, PowerTime and training folders Remove all retirements/resignations from all systems and spreadsheets Maintain seniority list, call sheets, training list, shift breakdown, Lieutenant & Sergeant lists Track 320 hourly overtime bonuses throughout the year with forced overtime and holidays Maintain Military personnel, active duty and reserves, track days, communicate to appropriate staff change to orders throughout the year Maintain emergency sick/vacation days spreadsheets Complete vacation and holiday request for upcoming year for CO' s and counselors Maintain schedules for training, range call offs, vacations and sick time Other reasonable duties as assigned
High School Diploma or equivalent Four years minimum experience in an office environment and one year experience in payroll department Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Proficient with 10 key calculator and computer keyboard Must demonstrate ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and ability to write simple correspondence Must maintain a high level of confidentiality Must demonstrate attention to detail Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills Must demonstrate ability to organize and maintain employee records If you have any questions, please contact the county's Department of Human Resources at ychr@yorkcountypa.gov.
