Description

A financial services organization is seeking a Payroll Specialist in San Antonio, TX. This role supports high-volume payroll operations and helps ensure accurate, timely processing, reporting, and employee support in a fast-paced environment.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Hours: Standard business
  • Setting: Hybrid (after training; 3 days onsite)

Responsibilities:

  • Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
  • Manage payroll transactions, including new hires, promotions, compensation changes, terminations, and timekeeping updates
  • Review, audit, and reconcile payroll data, reports, and journal entries
  • Handle payroll taxes, garnishments, year-end reporting, and related compliance requirements
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies with strong customer service

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience processing end-to-end Payroll in a high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, payroll taxes, garnishments, W-2s, 940/941 processing, and payroll compliance
  • Experience with payroll transactions, timekeeping, audits, reconciliations, and payroll reporting
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to manage sensitive information, competing priorities, and strict payroll deadlines
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or ADP iHCM
  • Knowledge of UK payroll, employment, and tax law
  • Experience supporting military personnel, especially overseas
  • Human Resources experience in Recruiting, Benefits, or Employee Relations
