Description

Reporting to the CFO, the Payroll Specialist has the responsibility for processing payroll for all union employees on a weekly basis, as well as other tasks related to payroll and accounting. Integrated Facility Services is a leading mechanical contractor in Missouri, with operations in the St. Louis metropolitan area as well as mid Missouri. This position works out of our Fenton, MO office. IFS has been in business since 1966 and is proud to be 100% employee owned.Integrated Facility Services offers benefits including an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off (vacation, sick leave, holidays, parental leave and more), life insurance, disability insurance, employee savings plan.Essential FunctionsProcess weekly (in-house) payroll for union employees including compliance with prevailing wageReview and reconcile the payroll edit report against timesheetsResolve payroll discrepanciesBalance payroll taxes with General LedgerPay/file federal, state, and city taxes weeklyFile quarterly payroll tax Process Direct Deposits with bankGenerate and distribute Annual W-2 sCreate monthly union reports for multiple unionsProcessing of wage attachments, (child support orders, garnishments, levies)Balance fringe benefitsProcess several specific reports needed in the department daily, weekly and monthlySubmit monthly union hours to Department of Labor for Prevailing Wage Submit weekly union hours to various agenciesAssist in accounting as needed Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Working knowledge of payroll/accountingPrevious payroll/accounting experience, including 3+ years payroll experienceExcellent computer skillsStrong proficiency in Microsoft ExcelPunctual, dependable, excellent attendance habitsHonesty, accuracy, attention to detail and good judgementAbility to keep payroll/accounting information confidentialProfessional appearanceAbility to read, write, speak and understand English wellStrong verbal and interpersonal skillsAbility to create and maintain friendly relationships with customers and co-workersMust possess excellent problem-solving, analytical skillsPossess motivation, initiative and be a self-starterDetailed orientated, well organized and accurateAble to multi task and prioritize workAbility to read, write, speak and understand English well Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsEEO/AA Employer Vets/IWD
