    TempExperts is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a growing organization in the Miami, FL area. This position is responsible for processing multi-state payroll, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance, maintaining payroll records, and supporting employees with payroll-related questions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
    Responsibilities:
    • Process weekly and biweekly payroll for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
    • Review payroll data, including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, retroactive adjustments, leave pay, and special payments.
    • Perform payroll audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll processing.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and maintain current knowledge of applicable payroll laws.
    • Research payroll-related issues and implement updates to support regulatory compliance and internal processes.
    • Review timekeeping records, pay rates, employee changes, and payroll exceptions to ensure data accuracy.
    • Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including compensation changes, department transfers, and other employment updates.
    • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner.
    • Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and other internal departments to resolve payroll issues and improve payroll processes.
    • Prepare recurring payroll reports, analyze payroll data, and support operational reporting needs.
    • Assist with payroll system testing, upgrades, process improvements, and implementation of new payroll procedures.
    • Maintain payroll documentation, standard operating procedures, and internal controls.
    • Support year-end payroll activities, including payroll audits, tax reporting, and related payroll projects.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned to support payroll operations.
    Requirements/Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, including weekly and biweekly payroll.
    • Experience processing multi-state payroll in a high-volume environment.
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and payroll tax requirements.
    • Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems; UKG experience preferred. Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems is a plus.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service approach.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive payroll information.
    • Experience supporting payroll system enhancements, reporting, testing, or process improvements is preferred.
    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), or the willingness to pursue certification is a plus.
    • Experience supporting multi-location or high-volume payroll operations is preferred.
