Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, W-2s, and payroll journal entries. This position will support payroll processing, reconciliations, payroll accounting, tax reporting, and compliance.

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a temp to hire position. Must have strong Excel skills and 3+ years of payroll processing experience. This position will support payroll processing, reconciliations, payroll accounting, tax reporting, and compliance.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll and maintaining employee payroll records
• Review payroll reports for accuracy and make necessary corrections
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate final reports
• Prepare and process payroll journal entries
• Review timesheets, attendance records, and payroll interfaces
• Process manual checks as needed
• Review garnishment calculations and compliance
• Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits
• Assist with bi-weekly payroll tax submissions
• Support quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
• Review year-end W-2s and wage reconciliations
• Monitor payroll workflow to ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong hands-on payroll processing experience
• Experience reviewing and reconciling payroll reports
• Knowledge of federal and state wage and payroll regulations
• Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, W-2s, and payroll journal entries
• Strong accounting and reconciliation skills
• Advanced Excel skills required, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information
