    Description

    The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing the biweekly payroll for hourly employees and supporting payroll operations through accurate data management, benefits-related updates, and reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring employee pay accuracy and compliance.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Process biweekly hourly payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring thorough review of earnings, deductions, and taxes, with supporting documentation and stakeholder communication as needed
    • Serve as the first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, including UKG, Workforce Ready, timesheets, paychecks, and deductions, reviewing and responding to questions regarding biweekly payroll
    • Route out-of-scope inquiries to the appropriate person and escalate complex or unresolved payroll matters to the Payroll Manager
    • Manage log of payroll changes and communications related to biweekly payroll to streamline reviews and ensure record-keeping accuracy
    • Review new hire setups and employee changes entered by HR for biweekly employees, and communicate required corrections back to HR for resolution
    • Manage and maintain employee profiles and timesheets in Workforce Ready (WFR)
    • Process off-cycle payroll adjustments for biweekly employees
    • Maintain recurring payroll and benefits reports in support of regular operational review
    • Process employee terminations in UKG Pro
    • Set up court-ordered wage garnishments in UKG Pro for payroll services to execute
    • Assist with audits and payroll reconciliations as required
    • Maintain working knowledge of monthly payroll processing and serve as backup to the Payroll Manager as needed
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Education

    High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred but not required

    Experience

    • 2-4 years of payroll processing experience
    • Experience with payroll software (Workday, UKG, Workforce, Kronos)
    • Prior experience in a high-volume payroll environment preferred
