    Description

    Reporting to the CFO, the Payroll Specialist has the responsibility for processing payroll for all union employees on a weekly basis, as well as other tasks related to payroll and accounting. Integrated Facility Services is a leading mechanical contractor in Missouri, with operations in the St. Louis metropolitan area as well as mid Missouri. This position works out of our Fenton, MO office. IFS has been in business since 1966 and is proud to be 100% employee owned.

    Essential Functions

    Process weekly (in-house) payroll for union employees including compliance with prevailing wage

    Review and reconcile the payroll edit report against timesheets

    Resolve payroll discrepancies

    Balance payroll taxes with General Ledger

    Pay/file federal, state, and city taxes weekly

    File quarterly payroll tax

    Process Direct Deposits with bank

    Generate and distribute Annual W-2 s

    Create monthly union reports for multiple unions

    Processing of wage attachments, (child support orders, garnishments, levies)

    Balance fringe benefits

    Process several specific reports needed in the department daily, weekly and monthly

    Submit monthly union hours to Department of Labor for Prevailing Wage

    Submit weekly union hours to various agencies

    Assist in accounting as needed

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Working knowledge of payroll/accounting

    Previous payroll/accounting experience, including 3+ years payroll experience

    Excellent computer skills

    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

    Punctual, dependable, excellent attendance habits

    Honesty, accuracy, attention to detail and good judgement

    Ability to keep payroll/accounting information confidential

    Professional appearance

    Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well

    Strong verbal and interpersonal skills

    Ability to create and maintain friendly relationships with customers and co-workers

    Must possess excellent problem-solving, analytical skills

    Possess motivation, initiative and be a self-starter

    Detailed orientated, well organized and accurate

    Able to multi task and prioritize work
