Payroll Specialist with ADP Workforce Now Experience

My name is Bill Stevens, and I have a new full-time Payroll Specialist opportunity available for a major firm located in Amityville, Long Island that could be of interest to you, please review my specification below and I am available at any time to speak with you so please feel free to call me. The work schedule will be onsite five days a week.

This position will offer a competitive fulltime salary of $75,000 - $85,000 plus and an outstanding benefits package.

Responsibilities for this Payroll Specialist Position:
  • Logging into the HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) and verifying new hire data entered.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and payroll setup, ensuring all required documentation is completed and entered accurately into HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and tax laws related to payroll and onboarding.
  • Review and process I-9 forms, direct deposit info, W-4s, and employment eligibility documents.
  • Collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Payroll teams to ensure a seamless transition from offer acceptance to first paycheck.
  • Audit payroll data for accuracy and ensure all new hire compensation and benefits data is correctly reflected.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to onboarding documents, payroll setup, and first-time payments.
  • Support process improvements and documentation related to onboarding and payroll integration.
  • Track onboarding progress to ensure timely completion and escalate issues as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive payroll information.
  • Participate in onboarding orientation sessions and assist new hires with system access or form completion.
  • Running weekly onboarding reports to see who's starting and who's missing forms.
  • Following up with new hires (or their managers) for incomplete tax forms or banking info.
  • Collaborating with payroll to make sure new hires get paid on time especially their first check.
  • Attending onboarding sessions to support questions related to payroll setup.
  • Coordinating with IT/security for access provisioning (if part of the process).
  • Flagging and resolving any red flags in SSN mismatches, direct deposit errors, or missing documentation.
