Job Title: Payroll Operations Employee Services Specialist
Location: Greenville, SC 29615 (Temp-to-Perm; Hybrid: Monday–Wednesday in office, Thursday–Friday remote; first 2–3 weeks of training are 100% in office)
Pay rate: $32.00 - $33.00/hr
Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (40.0 hours/week)
Overview
The Payroll Operations Employee Services Specialist manages the daily execution and coordination of multi-state employee payroll processing in partnership with a Managed Services Provider. Reporting to payroll leadership, this role performs manual HRIS-to-payroll data entries, conducts pre- and post-payroll audits, processes off-cycle payrolls for state compliance, resolves ticketing inquiries via ServiceNow and ADP CRM, and ensures SOX/data privacy compliance.
Job Specifications- Coordinate and process end-to-end multi-state payroll for 5,000+ employees in collaboration with a Managed Services Provider
- Perform accurate manual data entry for job, salary, and personal data updates not interfaced automatically from HRIS to payroll
- Analyze and reconcile data discrepancies between HRIS and payroll databases; review and approve data inputs
- Execute pre- and post-payroll audit reports to identify, investigate, and correct payroll errors prior to final processing
- Handle employee, manager, and stakeholder service inquiries via ServiceNow and ADP CRM tools regarding earnings, deductions, taxes, and time records
- Support garnishment workflows and prepare/process off-cycle payrolls to comply with state final pay regulations
- Maintain strict compliance with SOX guidelines, internal control standards, data privacy, and confidentiality policies
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and multi-state payroll experience required
- 3 to 5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience (supporting 5,000+ employees) required
- Experience with ADP GlobalView, Ceridian Dayforce, or SAP systems strongly preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong intermediate knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll/labor laws required
