PAYROLL MANAGER
LOCATION l Dallas, TX | Hybrid — 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $25/hour
• Contract-to-hire opportunity

ROLE IMPACT
Manage the full payroll cycle from beginning to end, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while meeting federal, state, and local requirements. This role requires hands-on knowledge of payroll tax calculations and the ability to work through payroll processes in systems where calculations may not be fully automated. Success means accurate payroll, timely issue resolution, strong reconciliations, and dependable support for employees and internal teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage full-cycle payroll processing, including timesheets, deductions, adjustments, new hires, terminations, pay changes, and leave adjustments.
• Calculate and reconcile payroll taxes, deductions, benefits, and other payroll transactions while maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee questions, payment issues, and system-related payroll concerns.
• Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, leadership, and auditors to provide payroll reports and required documentation.
• Review payroll procedures and recommend improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and internal controls.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Full-cycle payroll experience from beginning to end, including hands-on payroll tax calculations, reconciliations, and complete payroll processing.
• Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll requirements, wage and hour practices, deductions, and payroll controls.

• Payroll reporting and reconciliation tools
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Public-sector, governmental, retirement-fund, or pension payroll experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot payroll issues and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, financial, payroll, and retirement-related information.
