Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll processing and administration for employees across 19 branch locations. This position is responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and confidentially while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements.

The ideal candidate brings significant high-volume, multi-location payroll experience and is comfortable managing complex payroll components including commissions, executive and confidential payroll, garnishments, child support orders, benefits deductions, adjustments, and payroll taxes.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Lead accurate and timely payroll processing for employees across 19 branch locations.
  
• 
  Manage complex payroll transactions, including commission-based compensation, confidential and executive payroll, adjustments, and corrections.
  
• 
  Administer garnishments, child support orders, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related deductions.
  
• 
  Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage, hour, payroll, and tax regulations.
  
• 
  Maintain accurate payroll records and appropriate supporting documentation.
  
• 
  Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee questions, and tax-related issues.
  
• 
  Partner with Human Resources, Benefits, Finance, and branch leadership to ensure payroll accuracy.
  
• 
  Support benefit implementations and ensure proper integration with payroll.
  
• 
  Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and audits.
  
• 
  Utilize advanced Excel functionality to analyze payroll information and identify discrepancies.
  
• 
  Assist with payroll system enhancements, testing, implementations, and process improvements.
  
• 
  Maintain strict confidentiality regarding compensation, executive payroll, and employee information.
  
• 
  Identify opportunities to strengthen payroll controls, processes, and efficiencies.
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  10+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably within a high-volume, multi-location organization.
  
• 
  Significant hands-on experience processing commission payroll.
  
• 
  Experience handling highly confidential and executive payroll information.
  
• 
  Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, taxation, garnishments, and child support requirements.
  
• 
  Experience supporting benefits implementation and payroll-related benefits administration.
  
• 
  Workday payroll experience.
  
• 
  Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
  
  • 
    Pivot tables
    
  • 
    Lookups
    
  • 
    Formulas
    
  • 
    Data analysis and reporting
    
• 
  Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to payroll accuracy.
  
• 
  Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

  Excellent communication and internal customer service skills.
  
• 
  Ability to manage competing priorities while consistently meeting strict payroll deadlines.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Experience with E1/PeopleSoft payroll systems.
  
• 
  Experience with ServiceTitan.
  
• 
  CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification.

This person should be comfortable taking ownership of the entire payroll cycle rather than simply supervising the work of others.

Success in the role requires someone who is highly accurate, organized, discreet, and able to troubleshoot complicated payroll situations independently. Experience with commission-heavy payroll environments will be particularly valuable.
