Description
Manages
end-to-end
payroll
operations,
tax
compliance,
and
regulatory
reporting
for
the
Kirkwood
School
District.
Makes
decisions
to
implement
district
policies
efficiently
and
serves
as
the
administrator
for
the
TimeClock
Plus
timekeeping
system.
Delivers
guidance,
training,
and
customer
service
to
staff
while
maintaining
confidentiality
and
supporting
smooth
business
operations

Process
Management
Manage
and
administer
all
payroll
processes,
including
the
collection
of
time
reporting,
payment
of
salaries,
insurance,
annuities,
taxes,
and
other
deductions.
Accurately
enter
data
into
the
payroll
system
and
set-up
new
pay/salary
levels
at
beginning
of
school
year
and
for
any
new
employees.
Monitor,
adjust,
and
balance
payroll
accounts
to
the
daily
fund
balances
for
proper
reporting.
Post
leave
accruals
and
deductions
for
each
employee
and
process
any
additional
pays
as
necessary
to
accomplish
the
payroll
accurately
and
in
a
timely
manner
Make
decisions
regarding
the
implementation
of
policies
to
ensure
effective
and
efficient
office
operations
for
the
District

Support
Serve
as
the
district's
administrator
for
the
TimeClock
Plus
(TCP)
time-keeping
system,
which
is
utilized
by
all
district
support
staff
members.
This
shall
include
supervising
and
analyzing
of
weekly
time
logs
to
ensure
that
records
accurately
reflect
clocked
time
as
well
as
paid
leave
time
Collaborate
with
outside
vendors
to
make
sure
payroll
issues
and/or
questions
are
resolved.

Support
Provide
information,
policy
procedures,
support,
guidance,
and
training
to
staff.
Support
staff
with
updating
tax
forms,
direct
deposits
and
accessing
payroll
related
documents
Responds
to
inquiries
regarding
pay
and/or
leave
in
a
timely
manner
Authorizes
payroll
adjustments
for
the
purpose
of
resolving
problems
and
meeting
special
compensation
requirements.

Manage
federal,
state,
and
local
payroll
tax
compliance
and
reporting
requirements,
including
the
preparation,
reconciliation,
monitoring,
adjustment,
and
timely
filing
of
monthly,
quarterly,
and
annual
payroll
reports

filings,
including
Form
941,
W-2s
and
W-2c
corrections
and
unemployment
compensation
reports.
Prepare
and
submit
electronically
all
monthly
and
annual
retirement
reports
to
PSRS
and
PEERS,
including
GASB-68.

Required
Education

Experience:

field

years

college/associate
degree

years

related
work
experience.
High
school

experience
in
finance,
accounting,
or
a
related
field.
Preferred
Experience
in
a
public
school's
business
and/or
accounting
department.
