    Chalk Mountain Services of Texas, LLC is a leading provider of transportation and logistics services to the oil and gas extraction industry. The company is is currently based in Fort Worth, TX and is currently adding a Payroll Coordinator.

    The Payroll Coordinator will support the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with hands-on systems experience who is looking to grow within a collaborative payroll and HR team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policy and applicable laws
    • Enter and audit timekeeping data, new hires, terminations, and pay changes within the payroll system
    • Calculate and process deductions, garnishments, benefits contributions, and tax withholdings
    • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies before each pay cycle
    • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies
    • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and audits
    • Maintain accurate payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
    • Support internal and external audits by providing requested payroll documentation
    • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure alignment on employee data and cost allocations
    • Identify and help implement process improvements within the payroll workflow

    Required Qualifications:

    • 4-5 years of experience processing payroll in a corporate or multi-state environment
    • Hands-on experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday, UKG/Kronos, Dayforce, or similar)
    • Solid understanding of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and general compliance requirements
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, basic formulas)
    • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy under deadline pressure
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with multi-state or multi-entity payroll processing
    • Familiarity with HRIS integrations and payroll/HR system implementations
    • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or working toward Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
