Payroll Clerk

Job Summary:
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. This position ensures compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations, and it works closely with HR to maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and support employees with payroll-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and audit employee timecards, attendance records, and other payroll data.
• Verify hours worked, overtime, vacation, sick leave, and other paid/unpaid leave.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.
• Assist with the preparation of payroll reports for management and audits.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
• Reconcile payroll discrepancies and collaborate with HR to resolve issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR and Payroll team.

Qualifications:

• Previous payroll experience is required.
• Basic knowledge of payroll practices and labor laws is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with payroll software systems is preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English and Spanish

Work Environment:

• Office setting, Monday–Friday schedule.
• May require extended hours during payroll deadlines or year-end
