Billing & Settlement Clerk, Trucking Position
Summary: In this dynamic, customer service driven environment the Billing & Settlement Clerk will interact with a diverse workforce including drivers, colleagues and managers. The Billing & Settlement clerk is responsible for ensuring proper billing of freight to customers and correct settlement for driver payroll.
Job Responsibilities:
Accurately process trips for driver payroll, meeting weekly and monthly deadlines
Ensure delivered loads bill the correct party for the correct amount, including ensuring proper accessorial charges are billed
Solving relatively complex problems related to compensation
Develop understanding of union and non-union payroll policies to research and answer questions from drivers/hourly employees regarding payroll matters
Work with managers to ensure proper documentation for worked and earned compensation is processed
Job Requirements:
General office, accounting and/or Trucking experience preferred
Ability to learn and understand Trucking industry practices
Excellent data entry, keyboard and ten key skills
Basic understanding of mathematical/accounting procedures is required
Payroll experience is helpful
Attention to detail with the ability to locate discrepancies is essential for this position
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to hear and speak clearly; read, comprehend and communicate, orally and in writing in order to effectively communicate in person or by phone
Physical requirements include standing, filing, bending, keyboard and scanner operations, sitting for extended periods of time and working on the telephone
