Payroll Clerk
Position Summary
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing in-house payroll accurately and on time while maintaining payroll records and supporting payroll tax compliance. This role assists with payroll transactions, employee inquiries, and payroll reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and pay changes.
- Review timecards, deductions, and payroll data for accuracy.
- Assist with payroll tax reporting and ensure proper tax withholdings.
- Respond to employee payroll-related questions.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation.
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of payroll processing experience.
- Experience with in-house payroll processing is ideal.
- Basic knowledge of payroll taxes and payroll compliance.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
