Global Real Estate Organization Payroll & Benefits Lead

Job Description

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for U.S. employees across multiple states and entities using Paychex.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, FLSA requirements, and related employment legislation.
  • Maintain payroll records, employee data, tax documentation, direct deposit information, and HRIS records.
  • Administer 401(k) contributions, payroll deductions, benefits enrollments, and benefits-related employee communications.
  • Support open enrollment activities and act as a liaison with external benefits providers and administrators.
  • Prepare and maintain reporting related to ACA, EEO, workers' compensation, unemployment, 401(k) plans, audits, and other compliance requirements.
  • Develop and analyze HR and payroll reports, workforce metrics, turnover data, and other business insights.
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions to manage, analyze, and present data to HR leadership and headquarters.
  • Partner closely with HR and Finance teams to support reporting, payroll reconciliations, and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate administrative tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, onboarding activities, and broader HR projects as needed.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience; 5+ years preferred.
  • Hands-on payroll processing experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Paychex experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, employment laws, and multi-state payroll regulations.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and payroll systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively across all levels of the organization.
