Payroll Assistant

Position Location: North Bergen, NJ
Schedule: 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm, fully on site

Target Compensation: $30-37 per hour commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Assistant:

• 
  
• Collect, organize, and review employee timesheets from multiple foremen and project sites.
• 
  
• Enter and verify timekeeping data from both electronic and paper-based records.
• 
  
• Assist with union payroll adjustments, including holiday pay and other contract-specific earnings.
• 
  
• Track employee hours across multiple projects to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• 
  
• Coordinate with field teams and payroll personnel to resolve discrepancies and missing information.
• 
  

Qualifications for the Payroll Assistant:

• 
  
• Prior payroll, timekeeping, or payroll support experience a plus.
• 
  
• Experience reviewing high volumes of data
• 
  
• Strong follow up skills
• 
  
• Comfortable speaking to employees via phone and email
• 
  
• Knowledge of union payroll or construction payroll processes a plus.
• 
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll/timekeeping systems.
