A confidential employer in the Greensboro area is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join their HR team in a direct‑hire capacity. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and effective benefits administration while supporting employees with payroll- and benefits‑related questions.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Manage employee deductions, garnishments, taxes, and benefit contributions
Administer benefits programs including enrollments, changes, and terminations
Reconcile payroll and benefits invoices; resolve discrepancies as needed
Maintain accurate employee records within payroll and HRIS systems
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll/benefits regulations
Support year‑end activities including W‑2s, audits, and reporting
Serve as a point of contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries
Qualifications
2+ years of hands‑on payroll processing experience
Prior experience supporting employee benefits administration
Working knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements
Experience with payroll systems (ADP or similar preferred)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
Professional communication skills and discretion with confidential data
Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office tools
