Description
Well regarded academic institution is seeking a Payroll Analyst on a potential temporary-to-direct hire basis. This position will be fully onsite in their Tarrytown location. The hours are Monday through Friday from 9am – 5pm.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities Include:
• Assisting with payroll processing
• Maintaining, reviewing, and processing employee time reports; including accuracy and verification of time entry and calculation of overtime
• Responding to inquiries from employees and department managers
• Assisting in the verification and calculation of benefits and deductions
• Working with accounting personnel to reconcile Federal Work Study to the general Ledger and deductions accounts
• Preparing retirement plan remittance summary
• Processing garnishments
• Assisting with verifying payroll changes regarding promotion, termination and new hires for staff, faculty, student workers, etc.
• Processing manual checks, voids, and replacements checks
• Processing semi-monthly cash disbursement reports
• Assist in the processing, maintenance and monitoring of leave (vacation, sick, personal time) reports
• Processing direct deposit requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Two years+ experience assisting with payroll processing
- Microsoft Office Proficiency
- Excellent MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Filters, etc)
- Experience with Banner Software is a plus.
