Job Description:

Easy Street Capital is seeking a Payoff & Servicing Specialist to manage payoff, reinstatement, and Verification of Mortgage (VOM) requests across our growing residential mortgage portfolio.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the logic behind loan-level calculations and can identify when something does not look right. The right person will take ownership of requests from receipt through completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate, review, and distribute payoff statements for loans serviced in-house
  • Review and approve payoff statements for sold loans serviced by FCI
  • Generate, review, and distribute reinstatement quotes and Verifications of Mortgage (VOMs)
  • Validate principal, interest accruals, default interest, fees, extensions, advances, and applicable credits
  • Research and resolve discrepancies using loan history, servicing data, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain the active payoff and reinstatement tracker for Operations and Accounting to monitor outstanding quotes and incoming wires
  • Provide the frontline Servicing team with status updates and support related to active requests
  • Maintain accurate supporting documentation for exceptions
  • Support additional servicing functions and process improvements as business needs evolve

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2+ years of mortgage servicing, asset management, private lending, loan operations, or related experience

  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership

Preferred

  • Experience with business-purpose, hard money, bridge, fix-and-flip, or Residential Transition Loans (RTL)

  • Knowledge of Dutch and non-Dutch interest accrual methodologies

  • Knowledge of construction/rehab holdbacks, draw activity, rehab suspense, and interest reserves
