Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI is seeking a PAYMENT AUDIT SPECIALIST to join our REVENUE CYCLE team!

The Payment Audit Specialist is responsible to coordinate all activities related to payment audits. This includes intake and entry of audit findings, tracking the status of payment audits from intake to close-out of each audit finding, coordination and collaboration with audit reviewers and appeal writers to assure prompt audit and appeal response, management of the tracking tools, education and outreach to business unit contacts on process, outreach to payers for status updates, and analysis and summarization of audit record requests and audit activity. This role will be the key point of contact on payer audit activity and working with all stakeholders, will assure we have a consistent and efficient audit tracking and response process that results in minimizing organizational risk of payment recoupments.

HOURS: Full Time 1.0 FTE, 80 Hours Biweekly

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare and revenue cycle operations normally acquired through completion of an Associate Degree, Bachelor''s Degree or equivalent in healthcare business or administration field desired.
• Basic understanding of Revenue Cycle operations.
• Minimum 2-4 years'' of experience working with medical records, claims processes, interaction with payers, claim denials, writing appeals, or coding preferred.
• Demonstrates Windows based computer skills.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy in work products.
