Patient Services Specialist

We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have a Patient Services Specialist – Bariatric Outreach opportunity with a dynamic healthcare clinic. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced environment where your proactive engagement directly helps grow patient volume and supports life-changing patient journeys.

The Patient Services Specialist is responsible for the specific duties listed below.

Your specific duties will include:

• Make frequent outbound calls to marketing-generated leads to educate them on bariatric surgery options and convert inquiries into scheduled consultations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients from initial inquiry through their first visit to maintain engagement and reduce drop-offs.
• Perform front desk duties including check-in/out, scheduling, verifying insurance and demographics, and arranging referral appointments.
• Process payments, enter charges using appropriate codes, generate daily payment reports, verify cash drawers, and discuss financial arrangements with patients.
• Respond to escalated inquiries, handle patient complaints, and assist in mentoring or training junior staff.

Required qualifications for the position include:

• Sales-oriented mindset, comfortable with outbound call metrics, and able to overcome patient hesitations to create urgency without being pushy.
• Resilient and organized professional with assertive follow-up habits who doesn't get discouraged by rejection or no-shows.
• Strong active listening and communication skills with a confident, persuasive, and empathetic telephone presence.
• Knowledge of patient registration, medical insurance claims procedures, and records maintenance.
• Ability to develop an in-depth knowledge of bariatric surgery procedures and requirements to speak credibly with patients.

Preferred qualifications for the position include:

• Bilingual (Spanish) fluency in both written and spoken language (required for at least one hire, preferred for all).
• Prior multispecialty healthcare experience.
• Experience utilizing Epic software.
• Familiarity with CRM or lead tracking software.

Pay Rate Range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits including medical, dental and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
