Description
A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Patient Access Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA! This is an entry-level opportunity with a specialty pharmacy, offering hands-on experience in patient services, healthcare administration, and insurance support.
Patient Access Specialist – Compensation
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Work Location: Onsite
Job Responsibilities
Patient Access Specialist – Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound communications with patients, prescriber offices, insurance companies, and third-party providers.
- Investigate medical and pharmacy benefits and clarify insurance coverage.
- Assist with prior authorizations, appeals, and medical tier exceptions.
- Initiate, review, submit, track, and follow up on authorization requests.
- Resolve insurance rejections by coordinating with patients, providers, and payors.
- Help patients enroll in manufacturer-sponsored assistance programs and other financial support resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure requests are processed efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service throughout the patient financial process.
Qualifications
Patient Access Specialist – Requirements
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow established procedures.
- Willingness to work onsite in Pittsburgh, PA, with a schedule between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
- Willingness to complete onboarding requirements promptly, including a background check and drug screen.
- Ability to attend the new-hire training class beginning November 16, 2026.
