Description

Summary:

  • Shift: 5x8 0800-1630 M-F, no holidays
  • Duration: 13 Weeks, willing to extend longer as needed after evaluating staff coverage

Responsibilities:

  • Generate orders for radiology exams using the order entry system.
  • Schedule outpatient and inpatient procedures including Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, and Nuclear Medicine.
  • Maintain accurate departmental billing records.
  • Answer, screen, and triage telephone calls within the departmental communication system.
  • Utilize departmental paging system and contact on-call personnel and Radiologist as needed.
  • Respond to patient questions and provide directions to different clinics, units, modalities, parking, and eating facilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Schedule and reschedule a variety of Radiology exams using EPIC following approved protocol for each exam.
  • Utilize financial clearance matrix when scheduling outpatient procedures.
  • Communicate various types of information to patients, referral agencies, departments, physicians, and the community.
  • Assist patients in completing various documents such as pre-procedure forms for radiology procedures.
  • Facilitate patient check-in and check-out process by verifying patient identity, coordinating interpreter services, and arranging patient transportation.
  • Utilize Accu-Reg to ensure Minimum Data Set has been provided by patient for proper billing.
  • Perform general clerical duties such as processing mail and stocking supplies.
  • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as described yearly by the Joint Commission.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of High School, or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare setting, or three years of general office or community services experience, or equivalent education/experience.
  • EPIC Experience is required.
