A healthcare facility is seeking a Patient Services Representative for a medical ambulatory care setting in Brooklyn, NY. This role supports patient check-in, scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and front desk operations in a fast-paced clinical environment.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day shift
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Setting: Ambulatory care center
Responsibilities:
Answer telephones and greet patients in a professional, customer-focused manner
Check in patients, confirm documentation, and enter registration details into electronic systems
Verify insurance coverage, process referrals and authorizations, and collect co-pays or balances due
Schedule and confirm appointments and diagnostic tests based on provider and patient availability
Maintain accurate patient records, support patient flow, and coordinate with clinical and administrative staff
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of clerical or service experience, preferably in a medical environment
Experience using an electronic medical record system
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines
Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Desired Skills:
Experience in a high-volume healthcare setting
Bilingual communication skills in Mandarin or Cantonese
Familiarity with registration, billing, and scheduling systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic office systems
