A mission-driven nonprofit healthcare organization is seeking a compassionate and customer-focused Patient Services Representative to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced medical front office professional who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care.
What You'll Do
- Greet patients and visitors while delivering outstanding customer service
- Schedule appointments, register patients, and manage check-in/check-out
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and referrals
- Collect copays and maintain accurate patient and financial records
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems
- Coordinate with providers and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Protect patient confidentiality and maintain HIPAA compliance
- Provide administrative support and assist with daily office operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of medical front office or patient services experience
- Experience with scheduling, insurance verification, patient registration, and copay collection
- Knowledge of Medicaid and managed care insurance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems (eClinicalWorks preferred)
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an FQHC, behavioral health, or dental setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience serving diverse and underserved communities
