The Patient Safety Assistant is responsible for providing direct supervision and companionship to patients as a safety measure to prevent suicidal, behavioral, and medical patients from harming themselves.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and an assigned patient.
  • Must demonstrate a calm, pleasant demeanor.

REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • PREFERRED CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT, PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN, OR RELATED HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE
  • BLS
  • CPI TRAINED

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1 year acute hospital /healthcare setting experience.
  • Must be able to complete training module prior to first assignment.
