Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Registration Representative, you will adhere to organizational policies and procedures to accurately resolve patient financial liability and serve as a key information source for patients and families. Every day you will ensure a positive patient experience by accurately identifying patients, collecting thorough demographic and insurance data, verifying eligibility, determining and collecting financial liability, and explaining hospital policies and patient rights.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, meticulous attention to detail in data collection and financial processes, and a clear communication style to effectively assist patients with their registration and financial responsibilities.

Maintaining Up-to-Date Knowledge

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for all areas, including but not limited to: • Main Admitting • OP Registration • ED Registration • Maternity • Rehabilitation units

Ensuring Accurate Data Entry

Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system at the time of registration. Properly identifies the patient to ensure medical record numbers are not duplicated.

Reviewing Assigned Accounts

Responsible for reviewing assigned accounts to ensure accuracy and required documentation is obtained and complete.

Meeting CMS Billing Requirements

Meets CMS billing requirements for the completion of the MSP, issuance of the Important Message from Medicare, issuance of the Observation Notice, and other requirements, as applicable and documenting completion within the hospitals information system for regulatory compliance and audit purposes.

Collecting and Entering Data

Collects and enters required data into the ADT system with emphasis on accuracy of demographic and financial information in order to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

Job Requirements

Required:

• High School Graduate or GED • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles.

Preferred:

• 2 years of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles.
