Patient Registration Representative | Per Diem

Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a Patient Registration Representative in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you’ll be responsible for greeting and registering all patients who present themselves for inpatient/ambulatory surgical procedures. You will also be responsible for leading construction of new electronic and paper patient charts for impending procedures. This is a Per Diem opportunity for someone who wants to blend patient interaction, administrative expertise, and contribution to the smooth operation of healthcare services.

In this role, you’ll support patients, providers, and clinical teams while helping deliver high-quality ophthalmic care. You’ll manage the comprehensive administrative and logistical workflow of patient registration and pre-operative support and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities 

• Greets all patients, family members, hospital staff, and visitors in a manner which is respectful and courteous.
• Checks-in patients, verifies all demographic and insurance information, collects all required co-pays, and updates account information as necessary.
• Effectively communicates patient arrival information and registration status to pre-op nursing staff.
• Leads the construction and completion of electronic and paper charts for impending procedures.
• Assists in the filing, collating, and scanning of patient medical record documentation, as needed.
• Ensures that existing patient files are maintained in an orderly fashion and contain all necessary pre-admission testing documentation during registration process.
• Notifies billing and corrects insurance/billing information that is erroneously entered into surgical software system in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications 

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 

• 1 year of related healthcare, registration, physician billing, surgical scheduling, and/or medical office experience required.

• Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail required. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
