Description

Location: 72-06 Northern Blvd., 2nd Floor, Jackson Heights, NY 11372
Work Mode: Local
Duration: 14W
Schedule: PT; 3X8 9AM-5PM

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule surgical and non-surgical procedures, including follow-up appointments, radiologic testing, and additional consults requested by the provider.
  • Schedule patients for surgery in a timely manner, utilize block time efficiently, and schedule pre-op and specialty clearances.
  • Ensure pre-operative clearances are obtained and fax all pertinent paperwork to the OR and the provider for review.
  • Schedule all first post-operative appointments for surgical cases.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed or in progress by the end of the business day.
  • Adhere to scheduling guidelines and the practice's no-show/cancellation policy.
  • Accurately document all EHR tasking/quick notes and provide them to appropriate parties in real-time.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the scheduling software.
  • Monitor physician schedules to ensure the rescheduling of office appointments to accommodate surgical bookings.
  • Ensure full utilization of OR block time and communicate the release of time to the manager as per practice guidelines.
  • Adhere to the OR scheduling escalation process.
  • Ensure proper communication to the provider and patient with complete and accurate information.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in developing relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Answer patient phone calls courteously and professionally, returning calls by the end of the business day.
  • Answer phone calls within three rings.
  • Maintain administrative and clinical calendars as assigned.
  • Perform schedule changes and open/close schedules for assigned providers in the scheduling system.
  • Prepare physician forms/applications, including credentialing applications, for physician signature.
  • Ensure guidelines for notifying billing and precertification specialists of scheduled procedures and surgeries are adhered to.
  • Facilitate radiologic and surgical procedure peer-to-peer requests between practice staff and insurance companies.
  • Treat patients, co-workers, providers, and visitors as guests, showing commitment to co-workers and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
  • Provide coverage for multiple locations as needed.
  • Report malfunction of equipment to the supervisor immediately.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of customer service, displaying courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum knowledge of the position's principles, techniques, practices, and procedures required to perform the job.

Preferred Skills:

  • Spanish fluency preferred.
