Overview
The Patient Placement Specialist reports to the System Director Bed Control/Nursing Supervisor and is part of the Bed Control team. The Patient Placement Specialists role as a part of this team is a technical one, requiring extensive knowledge of UF Health Central Florida patient placement protocols, the McKesson/HBOC patient processing system, and flow of information related to moving patients through the facility in an efficient manner. Working knowledge of Medical Terminology is required, as well as excellent communication skills, tact and patience.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience Required:
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
