Patient Liaison

Summary:

• Fixed schedule, e.g., Monday-Friday 8 am – 5 pm with standard breaks.
• Location: UCHealth Auxiliary Support Building, 2450 East Peoria St, Aurora CO 80014
• Work Mode: 100% In-office environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time video remote interpretation between patients, families, and healthcare providers in the patient’s preferred language.
• Accurately interpret medical terminology, including anatomy, procedures, and medications.
• Support effective communication in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with all patient privacy policies.
• Assist with the translation of written documents, as needed.
• Act as a trusted cultural and linguistic resource for care teams.

Requirements:

• Successful completion of a medical interpreter competency assessment (to be administered by the company).
• Completion of a 40-hour medical interpreter training program (e.g., "Bridging the Gap").
• Minimum of 2 years of medical interpretation experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior Video Remote Interpretation experience.
• Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) credential.
• Strong bilingual communication skills and fluency in medical terminology.
• Proficiency in basic computer and technology use.
• Ability to exercise critical thinking and sound judgment in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
