About the Role:Sole Foot and Ankle Inc. in Mechanicsville, VA, is seeking a compassionate, organized Patient Coordinator to join our dedicated team! This is a fantastic opportunity to be the welcoming face of our practice, helping patients feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors.
Responsibilities:- Greet and check in patients, ensuring a warm and professional front desk experience
- Handle deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance explanations.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using practice management software
- Verify insurance eligibility and assist patients with coverage questions
- Collect co-pays, process payments, and manage billing inquiries
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical documentation
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with insurance providers and other healthcare offices
- Answer multi-line phones and respond to patient inquiries promptly
Requirements:- Prior experience in a medical office, healthcare, or patient-facing administrative role preferred
- Familiarity with medical billing, insurance verification, and EMR/EHR systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or medical administrative certification a plus
