Pride Health is hiring a Patient Coordinator to support our client's healthcare facility in New York, NY

Job Details: 
Schedule:  
37.5 hours/week, 5 days/week - 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to change)
Location:  New York, NY 10029
Job Type:
Local contract
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Pay Range:  
$20–$21/hour
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.  
 
Duties: 
  • Greet patients in person or via telephone.
  • Update patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Verify insurance and confirm physician participation with the patient's insurance.
  • Process HIPAA-related paperwork and institutional forms.
  • Collect or retrieve referrals and insurance authorizations as required.
  • Monitor the waiting room and keep patients informed of wait times.
  • Collect or verify patient co-pays and provide receipts.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Answer practice phones and schedule appointments.
  • Follow HIPAA and applicable requirements for handling PHI.
  • May initiate reminder calls for next-day appointments.
  • May perform simple charge-entry or payment-entry tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements: 
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Years of experience: Minimum 1 year of physician practice experience.
  • Skills/Specialties/Technology: Insurance verification, Patient scheduling
