BayCare is looking for Patient Care Technicians to join our team!

Patient Care Technician positions are available with South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City. If you would like to start working in a dynamic hospital environment in a supportive team environment providing hands-on care for patients with a leader in healthcare, please join BayCare as a Patient Care Technician.

• Day shifts are 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Night shifts are 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Pool (with different shift commitments ranging from 2 twelve-hour shifts to 3 twelve-hour shifts per month, more shifts available if desired)

The Patient Care Technician:

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
• Assists the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care as directed by the RN.

Position Requires:

• A minimum of one year of CNA work experience in a skilled nursing facility; or a minimum of 6 months of PCT (Patient Care Tech)/CNA work experience in a hospital; or in lieu of experience may have completed approved CNA school (with clinicals); or nursing student with completion of Nursing Fundamentals
• Extended new hire training and new hire department orientation is available for new Florida licensed CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant with no experience yet.
• High School Diploma, GED or Certificate of Completion (minimum)
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (from American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
• Ability to work Full time hours is a plus!

Certifications and Licensures

Required Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Minimum Qualifications: You may qualify for the position through one of the following ways:

• 6 months acute care experience as a patient caregiver
• 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience as a patient caregiver
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an RN or LPN program
• Completion of a Baycare approved Nurse Assistant/PCT program--this program must include a minimum of 40 hours hands-on patient care experience outside of a lab setting

Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; may also qualify with a Certificate of Completion
