Patient Care Technician I TDCJ Infirmary South

JOB DESCRIPTION

To provide basic technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent • Completion of one of the following technical programs: • Completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant program • Completion of a Medical Assistant program • Completion of Medical Corpsman program • Completion of EMT program • Completion of a UTMB Hospital Aide Training Program • Two (2) years of experience in a direct patient care environment • Certified MA, PCT, or CNA at time of hire • Is enrolled in a recognized School of Nursing and has completed the first semester of education which contains clinical concepts and health assessment or the equivalent
