Patient Care Technician - Head & Neck/Breast Surgery Inpatient Unit

Patient Care Technician positions at MD Anderson Cancer Center are vital to supporting patient care in the Head & Neck/Plastics Reconstruction unit. This specialized unit provides nursing care to patients with complex needs, including airway management, microvascular flap monitoring, and wound care. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably experience in direct patient care or an acute care setting. Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.

Minimum $18.27 - Midpoint $22.84 - Maximum $27.40 per hour based on a 40-hour work week. The typical work schedule includes day/evening shifts with rotating weekends and holidays required. Shifts: Day/Evenings or Evening/Nights 7pm-7am and 3pm-11pm or 7am - 7pm and 3p -11pm depending on availability. Work location: Onsite.

Responsibilities

• Act as a member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobilization, admission/discharge processes, and obtaining vital signs
• Update and retrieve patient information accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment
• Participate as part of an assigned care team
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Required: None
• Preferred: Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Preferred: CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant Upon Hire

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
