This Patient Care Technician (PCT) Float Pool position provides high-quality, compassionate care for both adults and pediatric (neonates, pediatrics and adolescents) patients. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician will deliver direct patient care, support clinical operations, and adapt quickly to various patient and care environments. This position requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a committment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilites Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Patient Treatment Activities 

  • Take and record vital signs, perform blood glucose measurements, empty drains, apply and remove telemetry

  • Patient Care Activities

  • Including bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, repositioning, and assistance with activities of daily living

  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, discharges and transportation throughout the facility

  • Assist nurses with procedures and treatments while maintaining patient comfort, safety, and privacy

  • EKG

  • Interprets and follows all established EKG based testing regulations

  • Operates EKG equipment for diagnostic procedures

  • Maintains EKG machines and other medical transportation equipment

  • Receives and evaluates trans-telephonic EKG recordings

  • Phlebotomy

  • Obtains blood samples for medical testing and transfusion through venipuncture or capillary puncutre.

  • Follows infection-control safety procedures in carrying out daily phlebotomy functions.

  • Prepares sample-collecting equipment, draws blood sample, and safely stores and transports samples. 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the following

  • Patient Bill of Rights

  • Patient Care Handbook
