RCC invites you to apply for a Patient Care Technician (PCT) Adjunct Instructor at our Glenns, Warsaw or Kilmarnock Satellite Campus. We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to lead classroom instruction, direct skills lab training, and facilitate clinical rotations. Teaching assignments may take place at one or more of our campus locations.

Our curriculum combines the foundational competencies of a Nurse Aide and a Clinical Medical Assistant. As the instructor, you will equip future technicians with the skills needed to deliver care across diverse clinical settings-including hospitals, doctor's offices, nursing homes, and residential care facilities-and prepare them to pass both the Virginia State Board of Nursing exam for Nurse Aide licensure and the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national certification exam.

Key responsibilities of this role include delivering engaging classroom instruction and hands-on skill labs across one or more assigned campus sites and teaching core PCT and Nurse Aide competencies, including activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care techniques, and diagnostic and clinical skills such as EKG administration and Phlebotomy (blood drawing). Ln addition, this role will instruct on specialized patient care procedures such as Foley care, catheter care, basic specimen collection, and vital signs monitoring.

This position will also lead and supervise students during clinical rotations at designated regional healthcare agencies, maintaining strict adherence to safety and infection control standards. Lastly, this role will evaluate student progress and ensure readiness to sit for the Virginia State Board of Nursing Nurse Aide exam and the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam.

Special Assignments

KSA's/Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or multistate Compact license).
  • Clinical Experience: Two years as a registered nurse and at least one (1) year of direct client care experience or supervisory experience in the provision of long-term care services.
  • Instructor Training: Evidence of completion of an approved Nurse Aide Train-the-Trainer course OR willingness to complete the Train-the-Trainer course within 30 days of hire.
  • Flexibility: Willingness and ability to teach at one or more designated campus locations (Warsaw, Glenns, Kilmarnock).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR Certification.

Additional Considerations

  • At least one (1) year of teaching experience in a healthcare, clinical, or academic setting.
  • Familiarity with Virginia Board of Nursing regulations for Nurse Aide education programs and NHA Clinical Medical Assistant standards.
