Position: Patient Care Tech / Health Unit Coordinator
Department: Neuro Intensive Care Unit
Shift: 7:00 pm-7:30 am Full Time 36 hours a week, 72 hours per pay period

The PCT works under the supervision of the nurse, which means the nurse makes sure they are doing things safely and correctly. Qualifications
Education: You'll need a high school diploma or GED.
Training: You'll need to get a BLS CPR certificate. If you don't already have it, they can teach you how to do CPR at your orientation, too (so you don't need to do it beforehand).

As a PCT, the PCT/HUC works under the direction of RN/LPN as part of the health care team to assist with patient care activities. The tasks delegated are those that are in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing set by Miami Valley Hospital.
As a HUC, the PCT/HUC coordinates the day to day clerical activities of the nursing unit. The HUC directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients/families/significant others.
