Patient Care Technician provides direct and indirect patient care services under the supervision of licensed
nursing staff. The role supports the delivery of safe, timely, and patient-centered care by assisting with basic
clinical and supportive care needs in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. The Patient Care Technician
practice in alignment with organizational values, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Provide direct patient care assistance, including support with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, safety, and comfort measures.
- Assist licensed nursing staff with delegated patient care activities according to established clinical protocols.
- Observe patient condition and promptly report changes or concerns to licensed nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to patient care activities.
- Support patient safety, infection prevention, and environmental cleanliness standards.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow escalation procedures.
- Prioritize assigned tasks and utilize resources effectively in a high-acuity clinical environment.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Florida CNA certification.
- Hospital PCT/CNA experience preferred.
- Nursing students: currently enrolled in a Nursing program (ASN or BSN) and have completed Fundamentals of Nursing (must submit unofficial transcript with application).
