Patient Care Associate / Technician (PCA / PCT)

Position Overview: The Patient Care Associate/Technician (PCA or PCT) provides direct support to patients in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and nursing homes under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Patient Care Technician (PCT), or Phlebotomist accepted.

Position Overview:

The Patient Care Associate/Technician (PCA or PCT) provides direct support to patients in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and nursing homes under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. In this role, you will assist patients with daily care needs, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a safe and comfortable environment. You will work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care while following facility policies and 1199SEIU guidelines. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Support patient mobility through transferring, repositioning, and ambulation.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests.
• Assist with transporting patients throughout the facility.
• Communicate patient concerns and status updates to nurses and other healthcare team members.
• Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations while providing compassionate patient care.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Direct patient care experience required.
• Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Patient Care Technician (PCT), or Phlebotomist accepted.
• Prior nursing assistant experience in a hospital or nursing home preferred.
• DSP candidates must have experience taking vital signs.
• Home care or private duty experience is not accepted.
• Open availability for morning, day, evening, and overnight shifts required.
• Drug screening and background check required.

Pay Range: USD $25.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
