Patient Care Assistant Student Course

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN! AS A PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT STUDENT, you'll work closely with our Clinical Nurse Educators and a preceptor to learn the essential duties needed to become a Patient Care Assistant at Penn Highlands Elk. The course is a combination of classroom time and hands-on training.

Start Date: August 31st, 2026

Shift: Monday - Friday, Daylight hours

Pay Rate: $13.11/hr

Towards the end of the 6-week course, successful students can apply and be considered for any current Patient Care Assistant positions available at Penn Highlands Elk.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent required or must be currently enrolled in high school
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Interest in patient care required
• Willing to be a team player in a healthcare environment
