Job Overview
Sigma Inc. is seeking an experienced Patient Account Specialist Senior with a strong background in physician billing and revenue cycle management. This role is responsible for accurate billing, accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up, denial resolution, and reimbursement processes to ensure timely claim payments.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform physician billing, including claim submission and payment posting
- Handle A/R follow-up, denial management, and appeals processing
- Resolve payer rejections and credit balances/refunds
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and PHI confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with insurance carriers, patients, and internal teams
- Document all activities in the practice management system
- Analyze billing trends and identify opportunities for revenue cycle improvement
- Provide patient education regarding insurance coverage and billing questions
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
- Minimum 3+ years of physician billing experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9 / ICD-10 coding
- Medical terminology
- Government & commercial payer guidelines
- Experience with:
- A/R follow-up and denial resolution
- Claims submission and reimbursement processes
- Revenue cycle workflows (end-to-end)
- Proficiency in 10-key, computer systems, and billing software
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in multi-specialty physician practices
- Familiarity with systems like Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar EMR platforms
- Proven ability to handle high-volume billing environments
