    Job Overview

    Sigma Inc. is seeking an experienced Patient Account Specialist Senior with a strong background in physician billing and revenue cycle management. This role is responsible for accurate billing, accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up, denial resolution, and reimbursement processes to ensure timely claim payments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform physician billing, including claim submission and payment posting
    • Handle A/R follow-up, denial management, and appeals processing
    • Resolve payer rejections and credit balances/refunds
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and PHI confidentiality
    • Communicate effectively with insurance carriers, patients, and internal teams
    • Document all activities in the practice management system
    • Analyze billing trends and identify opportunities for revenue cycle improvement
    • Provide patient education regarding insurance coverage and billing questions

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
    • Minimum 3+ years of physician billing experience
    • Strong knowledge of:
      • CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9 / ICD-10 coding
      • Medical terminology
      • Government & commercial payer guidelines
    • Experience with:
      • A/R follow-up and denial resolution
      • Claims submission and reimbursement processes
      • Revenue cycle workflows (end-to-end)
    • Proficiency in 10-key, computer systems, and billing software
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience in multi-specialty physician practices
    • Familiarity with systems like Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar EMR platforms
    • Proven ability to handle high-volume billing environments
