    Description:

    Position Summary

    Assists the management team and support staff. Reports directly to the Supervisor of Registration and Supervisor of Central Scheduling and Pre-Registration respectively.

    Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week, days

    What the Coordinator Patient Access will need

    • Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent

    • Preferred - Associate's degree or equivalent experience in business or computer information systems

    • Preferred - One year of experience in patient access or in another healthcare field

    • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new applications. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to multi-task. Ability to read physician orders.

    • Understanding of billing processes and insurance information, patient scheduling process, medical terminology and basic human anatomy. Problem solving skills.

    What the Coordinator Patient Access will do

    • Provides input to the evaluation process and development of Action Plans to correct behaviors.

    • Under direction, designs and builds Departmental Policies and Procedures with a global facility outlook.

    • Acts as a resource, guide and support to Management, peers and support staff.

    • Provides input to the interviewing and hiring of staff.

    • Identifies quality issues and participates in ongoing quality monitoring, data collection and analysis of Patient Access procedures. Develops and implements departmental and division goals.

    • Complies with departmental Management chain of command.

    • Attends educational workshops as directed by the Management Team.

    • Cross-trained in areas of responsibility.

    • Responsible for weekly schedules and covering of staff.

    • Takes On-Call on a revolving basis with other Leadership from PA - responds to calls by phone and in person as the situation requires.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
