What you'll do

  • Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
  • Respond to USPTO Office Actions and conduct examiner interviews.
  • Perform patentability, freedom to operate, and validity analyses.
  • Research emerging technologies and developments in patent law.
  • Collaborate with inventors, in house counsel, and foreign associates.
  • Participate in client meetings and business development activities.

What you'll need

  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience preparing and prosecuting U.S. patent applications.
  • Experience with software, electronics, electromechanical, or image processing technologies.
  • Strong legal writing, technical, and communication skills.
