Pastry Cook / Pastry Chef Assistant

$16-$18 per hour | Full-time or Part-time

Light on the Sugar is a growing, family-owned Orlando bakery known for French-inspired pastries, seasonal flavors, and beautifully finished desserts.

We re looking for a reliable and motivated Pastry Cook/Pastry Chef Assistant to join our back-of-house production team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys making desserts from scratch, working with a team, and taking pride in both flavor and presentation.

• Prepare pastry creams, doughs, cheesecake batters, fillings, sauces, and other recipes from scratch
  
• Assist with large-batch bakery production
  
• Assemble, decorate, and finish pastries
  
• Use piping bags, icings, glazes, toppings, and garnishes
  
• Accurately weigh ingredients and follow standardized recipes
  
• Help pastry chefs complete daily production
  
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  
• Wash dishes and assist with general kitchen cleaning
  
• Follow food-safety and sanitation procedures
  
• Make sure every product meets our quality and presentation standards
  

• At least one year of bakery, restaurant, culinary, or food-production experience preferred
  
• Strong interest in pastry and dessert production
  
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work efficiently
  
• Good attention to detail and presentation
  
• Able to read and follow recipes accurately
  
• Comfortable working on your feet for 8 10 hours
  
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  
• Must be at least 18 years old
  
• Available for morning and daytime shifts
  
• Weekend and holiday availability required
  
• ServSafe certification is preferred

This is a true back-of-house production position that includes baking, decorating, cleaning, dishwashing, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
