Description

Responsibilities:

The Manager of Pastoral Care and Education is responsible for managing the Pastoral Services Department. S/he oversees and ensures the complete program of pastoral care to patient/residents, their loved ones, and, as appropriate, to staff of all faith traditions. S/he oversees and ensures provision of Clinical Pastoral Education and spiritual care training to Chaplain Interns and Community Clergy volunteers as appropriate for the institution. S/he serves on the Clinical Bioethics Service. Provides pastoral, spiritual, and cultural education to students in the College of Medicine in designated learning tracks. S/he communicates and provides liaison with the religious community and administers the Pastoral Care Department. S/he participates in the institution's management structure. The manager will perform pastoral services throughout UF Health and the community. The Manager of Pastoral Care and CPE reports to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle.

Schedule

FTE: 1.0

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm

Days: Monday-Friday; occassional weekend

Qualifications:

Education

Required:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited program.
  • Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) or Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from an Association of Theological Schools (ATS) theological seminary Divinity School.
  • An equivalent school of theology within a distinct religious/cultural tradition. 

Experience

Required: Ordained minister with an endorsement from an APC recognized religious denomination.

Preferred: Five years of chaplain experience in a health care institution

Certification/Registration:

Required:

  • Must be Board certified, or eligible to become certified, and in good standing with one of the following:
    • Association of Professional Chaplains (APC)
    • National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC)
    • Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC)
    •  Institute for Clinical Pastoral Training & Spiritual Care Association (ICPT/SCA)
    • Council on Ministry in Specialized Settings (COMISS)
  • Must have completed 4 units of certified Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
