Job Title: Plastics Material Handler
Pay: $18/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:50 AM–3:00 PM
Position Overview:
The Plastics Material Handler is responsible for maintaining material requirements for production by preparing, staging, and supplying materials according to Work Orders. This position supports production by loading dryers, assisting with material changes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and keeping equipment and work areas clean.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Work Orders and production schedules to determine material requirements
- Pick, stage, and load materials into dryers according to production needs
- Stage material in designated areas or warehouse locations for production use
- Clean dryers, grinders, and work areas after production jobs are completed
- Assist with material changes at presses when needed
- Weigh, count, and verify material inventory at the end of jobs and return materials to the warehouse
- Label and identify materials accurately
- Mix materials according to product specifications
- Support operators with daily production needs
- Operate forklift as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED or related manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read and follow Work Orders, safety rules, and operating instructions
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate material counts
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and work in a manufacturing environment
- Forklift experience preferred or ability to become certified
Work Environment:
This position works in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving equipment, outdoor conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise level
